RIP CPB: Grieving and Celebrating Public Media

The Dot Connector Studio Onwards series: Confronting change and how we can move forward.

How do we mourn the death of a pivotal civic ecosystem? On September 30, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) will effectively close its doors, ending a long and hard-fought policy battle that was anchored by the passage of the 1967 Public Broadcasting Act.

Join us for a collective vigil on Tuesday, September 30 from 5:30-7pm ET / 2:30-4:00pm PT / 4:30-6:00pm CT.

Dot Connector Studio will bring together many of the people we have worked with over the years to make public media more innovative and representative. Jessica Clark, Dot Connector Studio’s founder, will engage in conversation with special guests who have worked to create and protect public media. Then we’ll take some time together to honor the productions and institutions that many of us have spent years working to build—and make space for what comes next.

Together, let’s meet this unraveling moment with community, moving forward with clarity and intention.
